Starfall City (also known as "Aid to Xingchui", "Starry Aid", etc) is a VIP-only PvE game mode introduced by our current patch. With this, SnailGames unleashed a new time sink, eager to devour every spare minute you thought you had.
This new game mode allows one to farm the new "Trick the Enemy" rework, the new "Furious Wind Single Slash" single blade skillset, as well as level 3 skills of "Dragon Claw (Ancient Manual)".
This guide aims to minimize the time you'll be spending in that game mode, by laying out every single quest, event and game mechanic within that map, the rewards you can get, and an optimal farming approach for this game mode.
1. Requirements
To enter this game mode, you first need to finish a short storyline quest that lasts about 30 minutes. The storyline quest automatically starts, when you walk through the "Tyrant" NPCs in front of the main herbal in Chengdu.

Once you finish the storyline quest, you enter Starfall City through "My Battle - Aid to Xingchui".

2. Gameplay
The goal in this game mode is to farm Faction Points through quests and events, for a sect of your choosing. Once you farm enough faction points, you will rank up, and the highest rank you can get is rank 30. At first, you will be capped at rank 15, until you reach rank 15 in all sects. Then, you can proceed to rank 30.
Every 150 Faction Points, you rank up. Every time you rank up, you will get rewards for the sect you have selected. At ranks 3 and 6, you can increase your identity at your sect promotion NPC, which in turn increases your skillset and inner level. This directly affects your damage output (with higher MP consumption) and survivability.

Every Monday, your sect selection resets, and you have to pick a sect again, but you do not lose your Faction Points. This way, you can farm all 7 sects that you can join for their rewards.

All rewards get sent to you by mail once you return to your main server.
In this game mode, the character you currently have, does not matter. Everyone spawns in with the first tier school inner, the same gear, and one of the basic school sets. The inners and sets are a slightly buffed version of the conventional versions we all are familiar with. Some skillsets also have additional splash damage, like the Tangmen dart set. Get re-acquainted with these new versions.
The map is big, but players get a horse and windrider for free. There are also horses in fronts of camps that act as fast travel between the camps.
Each camp has a Shen NPC that sells various pills. You obtain herbs for the pills from random loot boxes scattered across the map, or from daily quests.
3. Sect Dailies
Active times: Monday to Saturday from 00:00 to 23:59.
Inside your sect base, there will be 12 daily quests. The deacon of the sect has 2 main daily quests, and the remaining NPCs inside and around your base have 10 mini daily quests. The two main dailies give the most rewards, per main daily giving you 22 Faction Points, as well as a herb bag and 2x 10000 push pills. The 10 mini dailies each give 2 Faction Points.
In total, you can get 64 Faction Points, from sect dailies, per day.
Riddle Solutions
Sometimes, the sect quest involves you having to unmask a pirate spy among the villagers, by solving a riddle. Here are the solutions.
Riddle | Solution | Riddle (Chinese) | Solution (Chinese) |
|---|---|---|---|
Disappear without a trace | Ding Hou Sheng | 不翼而飛 | 丁厚盛 |
Need half, leave half | Lei Jiang Fu | 需要一半,留下一半 | 雷江富 |
Gasping for breath | Qi Zheng Jun | 上氣接下氣 | 乞政鈞 |
Half of Spring and Autumn | Qin Guo Qing | 半部春秋 | 秦國清 |
Once and again | Ran Shan Chang | 一來再來 | 冉山昌 |
One in a thousand, one in a hundred | Bo Fu Xing | 千里挑一,百里挑一 | 伯富行 |
4. Side Quests
Active times: Monday to Saturday from 00:00 to 23:59.
When you open your big map, you will see 20 red scrolls. These are side daily quests, which also awards you with Faction Points. However, the side quests are rotated across three time slots, each time slot having its own 20 quests, for a total of 60 daily quests in a day. The rotation is the same every single day, thus, predictable.
The quests are rotated at:
00:00-07:59
08:00-15:59
16:00-23:59
The side quests include killing certain mobs, talking to other NPCs, or fetch quests.
Special Side Quests
10 of the 20 daily quests, within the 00:00-07:59 range, will award you 5 Faction Points rather than just 1 Faction Point. These we will call "special" side quests, even though they still have the red scroll icon on the big map and are indistinguishable from the rest. It is currently unknown why these quests give 5 points.
The special side quests are indistinguishable on the big map, so here's an overview of these special quests.
NPC | Coordinates |
|---|---|
Hang Ceguang | -847, 381 |
Pan Bofeng | -500, 568 |
Murong Jian | -704, 79 |
Yuezheng Cheng | -520, -343 |
Leng Shengjun | -933, -49 |
Puyang Lun | 20, 763 |
Chang Hui | -497, 1002 |
Ouyang Biao | -46, 458 |
Situ Jin | 468, 169 |
Yun Xinpeng | -980, 223 |
Total Points
The amount of points you get from side quests per day, if you do all of them, are as follows:
Timeslot | Points |
|---|---|
00:00 - 07:59 | 60 |
08:00 - 15:59 | 20 |
16:00 - 23:59 | 20 |
Total in a day | 100 |
5. Events
Starfall City has events that occur at certain times, and these events are nice bonuses to help you progress faster.
Starfall Ambush
Active times: Monday to Saturday.
When people do Side Quests, a progress bar fills up. Once it reaches the maximum, the Starfall Ambush event activates for 6 hours. Ambushes cannot start on Sundays, as daily quests are disabled then.

A location in the map gets raided by the Wokou, which unlocks a bonus quest at that location. Pay a visit to the NPC there to do the quest.

The bonus quest rewards you with 5 Faction Points, as well as 5 Starry Peak City Master Tokens. The tokens are explained later.
Wokou King
Active times: Everyday from 18:00 to 23:59.
The "Wokou King" is a miniboss that spawns daily from 18:00 to 23:59 server time. The boss respawns every 30 minutes, which means there can be 12 minibosses in one day. Once it spawns, you can see its location on the big map.

There are conditions for spawning the boss. There will be a bunch of mobs you will have to kill, before the boss spawns. Once you kill the mobs, the boss will spawn. Each boss has its own unique attacks.

Each miniboss awards you with 2 Faction Points and 2 Starry Peak City Master Tokens. You can defeat multiple minibosses in a day.
Note that if you die, you have to revive nearby, so make good use of the Fast Teleport horses. It is recommended you have enough people to fight these bosses.
Pirate Invasion
Active Times: Wednesday and Friday at 20:00 to 21:00
Sect bases get attacked during this time. Follow the game's instructions to fend off the attack, to earn Faction Points. If a sect base gets destroyed, the disciples from that sect will have to take their dailies from the Army Camp, and they cannot heal nearby at their own sect base anymore.
The event is very tough and you need a decent raid to finish it. But everyone has a personal goal, which, if finished, rewards 110 Faction Points.

Starfall City Counterattack
Active times: Sunday from 20:00 to 21:30.
The counterattack is arguably the most important event of all, allowing players to increase their ranking by 3-4. That equals to roughly 450-600 points in one sitting. There's a lot to cover for this event, but thankfully, the game guides you through its interface, so this guide won't go into the details. Here's a rough overview of the event:
Destroy 2 trap mechanisms for Faction Points
Attack supply wagons to steal their goods for Faction Points
Kill 3 minibosses for Faction Points
Destroy 5 statues surrounding the main boss. Take their buffs.
Kill main boss, both phases, for Faction Points
If you die during the event, there is a herbal hall where you spawn nearby, just outside the city, so you don't have to run all the way back from your sect base.
The amount of faction points depends on your individual ranking. Certain sects will have an advantage over others because of the nature of the skillsets. Certain sects, like Tangmen, will have MP issues. Stock up on MP pills at the Shen NPC inside your sect base. Remember to spam your darts too.
Sadly, for some people, this event is undoable for certain timezones, like west Europe. If you have good friends that can multitask well, you could try asking them to take your account to the event.
6. Rewards
Starfall City has the following rewards:
Cultivation pills, push pills, weapon manuals, doll, treasure, equipment reroll tickets
Escape/Trick the Enemy rework, bound
Requires reaching rank 15 in any sect
"Furious Wind Single Slash" set, up to level 12, bound
Level 3 requires reaching rank 2 in any sect
To max it out, requires reaching rank 29 in all sects
The awarded token amount leaves no room for error. Do not mess up the bag exchange, otherwise you'll have to email SnailGames support, and we all know how that usually goes
"Dragon Claw (Ancient Manual)" set, up to level 3
Requires reaching rank 30 in any sect, per skill
The books are bound and cannot be disassembled for fragments
To exchange Throat Strike, you have to learn the other six skills first
Permanent unique sect outfits
Can only be worn when inside the sect on your main server; can't be disguised or downhill
Certain ranks award low, mid and high rank outfit tickets, which you can exchange in Suzhou in front of the arena at 437, 740
Hopefully they can be stored in your home's wardrobe furniture
Certain events reward "Starry Peak City Master Tokens".

10 of these tokens can be exchanged in Suzhou near the Sky Ladder NPC at 396, 740, for a reward bag.

The bag mentions that it contains a guaranteed Starfall City Points Gift Bag. So far, it is confirmed that this bag can drop a token worth 10 or 100 Faction Points, although the game data shows that tokens worth 50, 500 and 1000 Faction Points also exist.
7. Optimal Approach
If you're someone with a busy schedule, but still want to farm every reward:
Do the two main sect dailies (44 points)
Do the two quiz-type sect dailies (4 points)
Do the ten special side quest dailies (50 points) from 00:00 to 08:00
That would equal to 98 points per day for six days, so 588 per week. Estimated duration of about 20-30 minutes per day.
Every Sunday, do the Starfall City Counterattack event, for an average of 550 points. That roughly equals to a week of questing.
With the total of 1138 points per week, it will take two weeks to cap a sect to rank 15 (2100 points), then another two weeks to cap to rank 30 (4350 points). With seven sects to farm, that means it will take you about 28 weeks to finish this new game mode.
Timezone Constraints
If you're someone with a busy schedule, but can't do above approach due to timezone constraints, I'm sorry to say, but you'll have a very long grind ahead of you.
Because of the immense amount of disadvantage certain timezones have, and the huge amount of dailies, in my opinion, it is morally correct to bot this game mode. Do this at your own risk. Some people are already doing it.
If you do this between 00:00 and 08:00, you'll obtain the most points; 60 from side dailies, 64 from sect dailies, for a total of 124 per day. You'll get 144 or 164 if you decide to bot the other two timeslots of side quests as well.
Whenever possible, do the Starfall Ambush event that can occur at any time of the day. Keep each other informed about the occurrences. Finishing the Ambush gives 5 Faction Points, exchanging the white tokens for a box yields even more points.
8. Final Tips and Notes
When you die in this map, the only way to revive is to heal nearby. You cannot heal on spot.
Your character always spawns into the map with a zillion darts with decent damage. If you get overwhelmed by mobs, run out of MP, or have trouble fighting bosses melee, just spam the darts.
It is highly recommended that you plot a daily route for yourself on the big map, to make the grind a bit more bearable. Each sect has its own dailies, so you might have to re-plot the route for them. Make good use of the fast travel horses.
For some reason, right now all the Faction Points have a bonus of +10%. If you earn 10 points, you actually earn 11. If you earn 80, you earn 88, and so on. It is currently unknown where this bonus is coming from, if it's temporary, or if there's a way to increase it even further.
Animals can drop raw meat, and pirates have a chance to drop a green pill. It is implied that they affect your "corruption value", but we are unable to consume these items. This is likely a bug that the GMs have to fix.
There are awkward, incomplete and wrong translations for this game mode. There's a text package in the making that fixes this, and more. Stay tuned.
In the future, this game mode will be removed, when the Eastern Seas rework comes around. That is after the 12th subsect patch. Based on the previous two patches, it is estimated that this game mode will be around for 2 years. Once this game mode is gone, the Jianghu sabre set and Trick the Enemy rework can be obtained through other means.
